10,000 sq ft of gardens!
Last year was a learning year for the RI Flower & Garden Show, and based on what you told us, this year we’ve grown the Garden category into a dedicated 10,000 sq. foot experience! With color, fragrance, and inspiration, The Gardens contain so many unique features including Hanging Gardens, a She Shed, Water features, a lush Greenhouse, Living Walls, the Zen Garden, and Outdoor Living ideas – all with artfully done plantings, beautiful florals, and learning experiences throughout!
Enjoy plein air painting in the gardens by RISD | CE student Paige Linda. View oil paintings by RISD | CE Instructor Amy Bartlett Wright throughout the show.
The Gardens were made possible by a very large collaboration including: Central Nurseries, The Garden Federation, Future Farmers of America, designs by
RISD Continuing Education & Visual Shift, Unilock and so many others!
Some of the gardens many features:
Designed by RISD | CE (Joye Whitney and Dennis DelSignore) and built by RI Career & Tech Students, this unique garden feature is beautiful, inspirational, and emotionally captivating. We hope it brings joy to those who experience it.
Designed by RISD | CE and built by RI Career & Tech students — the vertical 8'x8' living wall is a free standing facade containing a variety of living plants, creating a lush area of greenery.
This amazing outdoor feature is not only trendy, but also incorporated into the Floral Fusion Gardens. Designed by Woonsocket CTE students and decorated by the talented folks at RISD | CE (Kyra Chomak Lawton and Elise Fargnoli), this She Shed is ready to make someone's backyard special.
Look out for digital prints by Ava Varszegi (RISD, BFA Illustration 2017) in the She Shed. Ava is currently a RISD|CE certificate student studying Graphic Design + Natural Science Illustration.
THE EDUCATION BORDER
Bringing the outside in and the inside out!
In keeping with our mission of connecting people to nature we are creating a colorful and educational garden border. Within the garden you will find elegantly dressed tables for alfresco dining inspiration. Whimsical Fairy houses created by local students will be tucked in throughout the plantings and will delight all ages. And of course, the elegant featured plantings will not only beautify your landscape but also support local birds, wildlife, and pollinators.
