An introduction to the work of the Below and Above Collective based in Providence. This collective engages communities with biodiversity and natural processes to create structures that actively participate in the web of life. By constructing floating wetlands using native plants and microorganisms which contributes to healthier urban waterways. James will speak on the transitions made to allow sustainable options in agriculture and landscape practices. The past 15 years they have introduced an alternative to traditional grass sod to low input ground covers. The call for less fertilizers and more organic solutions have escalated the diverse potential ground covers can bring to any landscape.
